Veins are an important part of your body circulatory system, carrying blood to and from the heart. There are some factors which can make them varicose, particularly obesity, prolonged standing and pregnancy. Varicose veins are when your veins swell and expand, and they can cause complications such as inflammation, ulcers, bleeding or skin changes. Although surgery can fix them, there are other ways to treat them.
One of these is tomatoes. That’s right. Most people don’t know about the healing properties of this food, but it contains an ibuprofin-like substance which acts as an anticoagulant, thinning the blood. Tomatoes also have flavonoid, which fortify vein walls.

1 – Green Tomatoes
Green tomatoes are an extremely easy home solution for disposing of varicose veins. Simply wash a couple of green tomatoes and cut them into circular pieces, placing them on the varicose veins. You can even swathe them in a bandage to keep them in place until you start to feel a tingling sensation on your skin. For the best results, repeat this 5 times a day. In just 2 weeks, you’ll notice a blurring of the veins and, over time, they will completely vanish.
2 – Red Ripe Tomatoes
This strategy is nearly the same as the one that uses green tomatoes. Wash a couple of tomatoes, cut them into thin slices and put them on the veins for 3-4 hours. Utilize a few swathes to hold them in place. Periodically replace the slices with fresh ones. This is best done at night or during the evening. How long you use this treatment is up to you, but remember to practice patience.
3 – Regular Exercise
One of the best things you can do to improve your blood flow and lower inflammation is to exercise. This can also help you lose weight, a common factor in getting varicose veins.
4 – Fiber
Certain sustenance’s help reduce irritation and enhance blood flow, reducing and preventing varicose veins. Fiber improves heart health and is a necessary part of digestive function. Eating 30–40 grams of it every day is a great way to prevent constipation, which can cause bloating and increased pressure on the veins in the abdomen and legs.
5 – Garlic Mixture
A homemade ointment is a great way to get rid of varicose veins. We recommend the following:
· 1 tablespoon of olive oil
· Half a glass of orange juice
· Garlic cloves, finely grated
After mixing the ingredients, let the mixture sit for 12 hours. Then, using a slow, circular motion, massage the mixture into the affected area. Once it has been absorbed, use a warm bandage or towel to wrap the area and let it sit for 15 minutes.
6 – Apple Cider Vinegar
There is another mixture that can help remove varicose veins. The following ingredients are needed:
· Half a cup of carrots
· Half a cup of aloe vera pulp
· A splash of apple cider vinegar
Mix the cleaved carrot and glass of aloe vera in a blender, periodically adding your splash of apple cider vinegar until you get a creamy consistency. Apply the mixture to your skin and put your feet up for about 30 minutes. Wipe it off with cold water. Always remember that consistency is key, in any of the treatments listed in this article.
