How to Lose Weight in Your Face

Chubby cheeks and double chins may look adorable on babies, but they are unattractive on adults. Your face is the first thing that gets you noticed in public. Along with facial features, its shape will draw attention – a chiselled jawline and high cheekbones, accompanying a thin face, are a prime sign of youth and fertility.

There is no magic formula to get rid of face fat. You must work hard to maintain your overall appearance. Just like you make an effort for your health and body, a regime of facial exercises, along with a proper diet plan, can help you lose weight in your face. Here are some general tips that you can follow to lose weight in your face:

Change Your Diet

You must lose fat in your overall body in order to lose it from your face. Cutting down on calories does not mean starving yourself altogether. This is extremely dangerous and reduces your metabolism, making it much harder to lose weight.

All you need to do is gradually make some healthier food choices and replace salty, sugary or fried items with fresh fruit or vegetables. Instead of processed foods, eat more fiber, which will keep you full for longer, and protein-rich foods such as lentils, almonds, spinach and fish.

Drink More Water!

A very easy way to reduce bloating and weight in your face is through regular hydration. Water flushes all the toxins out of your body and improves your skin and hair. Drinking at least 64 ounces of water daily will help slim your face over time.

Exercise Your Body … and Your Face!

Exercise is good for you, too! Incorporate some physical activity, like brisk walking for 30 minutes, three to five days per week as a minimum. Losing weight from your body will also affect the fat in your face.

Facial exercises can strengthen your muscles and reduce any sagging that is reflected in a double chin and other facial fat. Face yoga has become a hot trend these days for many looking to lose weight from their faces. Some popular facial exercises are:

· Cheek puff exercise: Take a deep breath and hold the air in your cheeks. Push the air from one cheek to other several times to reduce chubbiness.

· Smile and pucker up: Smile with your teeth clenched and then pucker your lips without squinting your eyes. This will tighten your cheeks and strengthen your facial muscles. Hold the pucker for an additional 5-10 seconds and then shift it from left to right, holding the position for a few seconds on each side.

· Chin lifts: this can help you get rid of a double chin. Tilt your face towards the ceiling so that your neck is stretched, keeping your eyes on the ceiling. Hold for 10 seconds or longer.

The bottom line is that you must make an effort to lose weight no matter what part of your body your are trying to affect. You can choose any regime that suits you, but you must stick to it to see results.
