Did you know that the human digestive tract is supposed to contain about three pounds of bacteria and yeast? When kept in balance, these bacteria are actually crucial for digestion and other important bodily functions. But, from time to time, the body does get out of balance and invites in forging parasites.
If you suspect you have a parasite, it’s probably because you’re suffering from an unusual rash, unexplained digestion problems, and/or general tiredness. Thankfully, there are a variety of natural and safe ways to remove parasites from your body without any ill side effects.
1. Cut Out Sugar
Yeast and bacteria thrive on sugar. If you suspect you have a parasite, cut out the sugar in your diet for a week or two, which will starve the parasite. In order for this work, you have to cut out both natural and refined sugars, so not even honey or stevia should pass your lips for those 1-2 weeks.
2. Probiotics
Yes, probiotics. They support the growth of helpful bacteria in your body, which are depleted by the other more harmful bacteria. They also work to fortify your body against parasites (and future invaders).
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has been shown to help normalize your body’s PH balance, improve digestion and even make your skin look better. It’s also very effective against unnatural organisms living in your digestive tracts. Simply take a spoonful before you eat your meals. It tastes terrible, but it is amazing for your body, and eventually, the taste won’t be an issue.
4. Herbs and Spices
There are a variety of useful herbs and spices for removing parasites and worms, such as peppermint oil, parsley, rosemary and thyme. One of the best choices is cloves, because cloves will kill off the eggs as well as the living bacteria. Eating more intense spices, like cinnamon and cayenne, will offer the same benefit. Cinnamon shouldn’t cause any negative side-effects, but be wary of cayenne, since it’s quite spicy! Make sure you do your research on which specific herb/spice you choose before you start consuming an excess amount.
5. Diatomaceous Earth
Diatomaceous Earth (DE) really is a miracle product. It is natural and comes in a variety of styles. Some aren’t safe to consume but are great deterrents for bugs (like bedbugs). Make sure the one you choose is food-grade (it should be clearly labelled), and take about a tablespoon at a time.
6. Extracts
Black walnut, wormwood, oregano, and grapefruit seed extracts are famous for their parasite-killing properties. You can usually find these in health food stores, in bottles ready for dosing out. Taking some in water or tea up to 3 times a day can drastically change the way you’re feeling. Make sure you’re following the instructions on the bottle and doing your research on which extracts you’re taking and how they might interact with your body.
7. Juice Fast
Juice fasts are one of the most popular of the colon cleanse trends. A colon cleanse can help with your overall colon and digestive system health, but make sure you’re doing one that’s good for you. Sugar helps the bacteria grow, so make sure you’re using juice with pulp and lots of fiber Otherwise, you won’t be able to digest the sugar properly and it will just make the whole situation worse.
