For most of the parents, it is not a matter of concern because the child will eventually develop better-eating habits.

An eating disorder is also known as a feeding disorder that is more diagnosed explicitly as anorexia. If your child is continuously reluctant to eat even after you prepare their favorite dishes, it is a cringe-worthy matter for all the parents out there.

Parents are required to identify what makes your child so reluctant to have food. Therefore, one of the most natural methods to overcome the problem of anorexia is having a conversation with your child. You might figure out some anger or insecurity in them during those talks. Instead of discussing their underweight body shape or good eating habits of their friends, you should instead focus on the fact that how would eat a good meal will help them to become better. Keep the quantity small

Little children need a very meager amount of food to survive. You cannot expect them to eat like an adult. There are instances when parents have beaten their children black and blue because of living food on the plates. It would be better to give a minimal quantity of food to your child so that it doesn’t scare them. Let them finish that quantity and then give something else.

Eat with your child

A better idea will be to eat with your child if the problem has to be permanently resolved. More than eating alone, children are fond of dining with their parents. Therefore, bring a meal that both of you can munch together and relish.

Involve them in cooking

Once your child develops an affinity for cooking, he will automatically generate a liking for eating food. You can also take your child as a good company for shopping for groceries in the nearby supermarkets. Describe them the benefits of having those vegetables in details in a very polite manner.

Just chat with them while they have food

Try to distract them while having food. You can switch on their favorite television show or talk to them about their interest areas while feeding them. This will help to eliminate the reluctance that they have in their brain. Shifting the focus to something interesting is very important to treat anorexia.

Indulge in family activities and physical movement

Instead of letting your child have a seat in a secluded room, let him get involved in normal family activities like cooking, talking, watching television, and playing outdoors. This has a lot of impact on mental health and hunger. Maybe once your child starts feeling happy and secured, he automatically asks for some food from you.
